The World Cup on the horizon. You have
probably already picked your couch, invited your people for the viewing party
and are all set to cheer your favorite team. Now the only thing missing is a
snack to carry you through all the edge-of-your-seat moments. And what better
thancomforting melt-in-the mouth cheese sticks right out the oven? They are
super easy to make and are great for sharing.
1 1/2 cups dried breadcrumbs
1 teaspoon dry oregano
1 teaspoon of garlic powder
1 cup grated parmesan cheese
1 1/4 teaspoon salt
4 large eggs, beaten
450 gms fresh Mozzarella cheese
Oil for frying
In a bowl, mix the grated
Parmesan cheese, salt, dry oregano, garlic powder, and breadcrumbs and keep
Cut the Mozzarella cheese into
2” x ½” wide sticks. Coat them in the eggs and allow excess to drip off.
Dip these coated sticks in the
breadcrumb mix and pat to ensure adherence to cheese sticks.
Place them on a baking sheet.
Repeat the breadcrumb dipping process.
Keep covered and freeze for a
couple of hours or until fully frozen.
Take oil in a deep skillet and fry
the sticks until they are golden brown.
