Ingredients
1½ cups dried breadcrumbs
1 teaspoon dry oregano
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1¼ teaspoon salt
4 large eggs, beaten
450 g fresh mozzarella cheese
Freedom Refined Sunflower Oil, for frying
Method
- In a bowl, combine breadcrumbs, grated parmesan cheese, salt, dry oregano, and garlic powder. Mix well and set aside.
- Cut the mozzarella cheese into sticks measuring approximately 2 inches long and ½ inch wide.
- Dip each cheese stick into the beaten eggs, allowing excess egg to drip off.
- Roll the coated sticks in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently so the coating sticks well.
- Place the coated sticks on a baking sheet and repeat the egg and breadcrumb coating once more for extra crunch.
- Cover and freeze the cheese sticks for a couple of hours or until completely frozen.
- Heat Freedom Refined Sunflower Oil in a deep skillet over medium heat.
- Fry the frozen cheese sticks until golden brown and crisp on the outside.
- Remove and drain on absorbent paper. Serve hot with marinara sauce.
