Ingredients:
- 250 gmsNannari Roots
- 2 Litres of Water
- 1 kg Sugar
- One Pinch Lemon Juice
Method:
Pre-Preparation:
- Soak Nannari roots in 2 Litres of Water overnight. The Water turns into dark colour due to the roots.
- Strain the water with a cheese cloth into a clean heavy bottom vessel.
Preparation:
- Boil the strained liquid by adding sugar till it slightly becomes a thick and sticky syrup on low flame, then add citric acid.
- Store it in a clean bottle.
- To prepare Nannari Juice, pour 3 tbs of the Nannari syrup into a tall glass.
- Add lemon juice, and pour chilled Water and serve.
Chef’s Tip:
Nannari is also known as Sugandhi, occasionally this syrup is blended with milk and served as flavoured milk.
