Nannari Juice

Ingredients:
  • 250 gmsNannari Roots
  • 2 Litres of Water
  • 1 kg Sugar
  • One Pinch Lemon Juice

 

Method:
Pre-Preparation:
  1. Soak Nannari roots in 2 Litres of Water overnight. The Water turns into dark colour due to the roots.
  2. Strain the water with a cheese cloth into a clean heavy bottom vessel.

 

Preparation:
  1. Boil the strained liquid by adding sugar till it slightly becomes a thick and sticky syrup on low flame, then add citric acid.
  2. Store it in a clean bottle.
  3. To prepare Nannari Juice, pour 3 tbs of the Nannari syrup into a tall glass.
  4. Add lemon juice, and pour chilled Water and serve.

 

Chef’s Tip:

Nannari is also known as Sugandhi, occasionally this syrup is blended with milk and served as flavoured milk.
